EXPLORE OUTSIDE
Bowland Barn is located on the fringes of the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and boasts far-reaching views of the fells right from the front door. This secluded rural setting is the perfect base for a family or group holiday, with the property offering so much outdoor space to relax and unwind.
The gardens and outdoor living spaces wrap around the barn and provide somewhere for the whole group to gather, or for individuals and couples to find some peace and quiet. There is an enclosed area for dogs and children to stretch their legs without needing to be supervised. An AstroTurf basketball court and football area mean sporty types can test their skills and let off steam. A modern heated hot tub is situated under a gazebo (in case of less-than-ideal weather!) and when seated in it, guests can enjoy views all the way across Morecambe Bay.
The BBQ area is perfect for cooking up a storm during long, lazy evenings in the sunshine and gives wonderful views of the sunset. There is seating adjacent to the BBQ area or guests can sit at a large iron outdoor table on a nearby paved space to enjoy the fruits of the chef’s labour.
Plenty of off-road parking and a charge point for electric vehicles eliminates parking stress and hassle, and we’ve even created a covered bicycle shelter for keen cyclists to use.
Our grounds are a haven for wildlife, with inquisitive brown hares frequenting the fields and lapwings, curlew, snipe, swallows and goldfinches for birdwatchers to spot. Animal lovers will enjoy the fields of cattle sheep and horses – including Milton the Shetland pony! A rushing stream at the end of the garden adds to the tranquil, off-grid feel of Bowland Barn. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome to stay too, provided they are kept under close control in the outdoor areas.
